The oxidative addition of N ‐[(alkyl‐ and arylsulfinyl)thio]‐phthalimides 3a–d to Pt(PPh 3 ) 2 (C 2 H 4 ) gives the platinum(II) thiosulfinato complexes cis ‐Pt[(S‐S(O)‐R)(Nphth)(PPh 3 )2] 4a–d ; the structure of N ‐[(benzylsulfinyl)thio]phthalimide ( 3c ) has been characterized by X‐ray crystallography.
