Synthesis and Structure of CpAlCl 2 Compounds with Sterically Demanding Substituents (Cp = Me 5 C 5 , EtMe 4 C 5 ) [1] The compounds Cp * AlCl 2 ( 3 ) (Cp * = Me 5 C 5 ) and Cp′AlCl 2 ( 4 ) (Cp′ = EtMe 4 C 5 ) have been prepared by the reaction of Cp * SiMe 3 ( 1 ) and Cp′SiMe 3 ( 2 ) with AlCl 3 . The single‐crystal X‐ray structures of 3 and 4 are reported.
