Bis(triisopropylphosphane)rhodium Dichloride: Formation and Structure The mononuclear rhodium(II) complex trans ‐[RhCl 2 (P i Pr 3 ) 2 ] ( 4 ) has been obtained from [RhCl(P i Pr 3 ) 2 ] n ( 3 ) and CCl 4 . The X‐ray structural analysis of 4 reveals a square‐planar coordination at the metal center. Reaction of 4 with H 2 leads to the formation of the monohydrido compound [RhHCl 2 (P i Pr 3 ) 2 ] ( 7 ) which on further treatment with H 2 in the presence of Na[N(SiMe 3 ) 2 ] gives the dihydride [RhH 2 Cl(P i Pr 3 ) 2 ] ( 8 ). Complex 7 has also been prepared from 3 and HCl.
