Strukturaufklärung eines doppelsträngigen Polymers mittels Modellstudien

Structure Elucidation of a Double‐Stranded Polymer by Using Model Studies Syntheses and complete structural characterization (including constitution, configuration, conformation) of the double‐stranded compounds Ua ‐ 5b , Ss ‐ 5b , U ‐ 7b , S ‐ 7b , UUa ‐ 8 , SUs ‐ 8 , UUUaa ‐ 9 , USUas ‐ 9 , SUUsa ‐ 9 , and SSuss ‐ 9 are described. These compounds contain up to three repeating units of the ladder polymer 3 and are therefore used as model compounds to elucidate interesting structural aspects of this polymer. A model for the spherical shape of 3 is presented. The molecular structures in the crystals of S ‐ 7b , SUs ‐ 8 , Ua ‐ 5b have been determined.
