With the occurrence of the 10th anniversary of the foundation of FIZ CHEMIE in December 1991, a review is given of the historical events leading to the foundation of this government‐sponsored organization, followed by the company's aims and structure, developments during the last decade, and the printed and electronic chemical information and documentation services it offers to education, industry, and the public in general.
