Sulfur Compounds, 143. — Synthesis and Characterisation of the New Bicyclic Sulfur‐Carbon Compounds C 6 H 8 S 8 , C 4 H 4 S 7 , and C 4 H 4 S 8 The reaction of Cp 4 Ti 2 C 2 S 4 ( 1 ) with two equivalents of the bissulfenyl chloride 1,2‐C 2 H 4 (SCl) 2 affords the new bicyclic compound C 6 H 8 S 8 ( 2 ). Treatment of 1 with one equivalent of S x Cl 2 (x = 1, 2) results in Cp 2 TiC 2 S 5 ( 3 ) and Cp 2 TiC 2 S 6 ( 4 ), respectively, which on reaction with 1,2‐C 2 H 4 (SCl) 2 give the asymmetric bicyclic polysulfides C 4 H 4 S 7 ( 5 ) and C 4 H 4 S 8 ( 6 ), respectively.
