1,3‐Cyclopentanediyls – Intermediates or Transition States? The energy well of the singlet diradicals 4a and 6 has been determined by the oxygen trapping technique to be 2.7 and 1.9 kcal/mol, respectively. From the oxygen and temperature dependence of the trapping rate of the diradical 4a activation barriers of 2.2 and 4.9 kcal/mol have been derived for the mutual interconversion of the spin isomers with the triplet being the ground state.
