Combination of (Me 3 Si) 3 P and H 3 B·THF results in the formation of the known adduct (Me 3 Si) 3 P·BH 3 ( 1 ). The complex undergoes dehydrosilylation above 100°C, and two ring compounds, [(Me 3 Si) 2 PBH 2 ] 3 ( 2 ) and P[(μHB 2 H 2 )]{(BH 2 ) 2 [P(SiMe 3 ) 2 ] 2 } 2 ( 3 ), are isolated. The crystal structures of the compounds are compared with those of other phosphinoboranes.
