Synthesis and Characterization of (lodocyano)iodonium Hexafluoroarsenate. [ICNI] ⊕ [AsF 6 ] ⊖ (Iodocyano)iodonium hexafluoroarsenate, [ICNI] ⊕ [AsF 6 ] ⊖ ( 1 ), was synthesized quantitatively by the reaction of iodine cyanide with [I 3 ] ⊕ [AsF 6 ] ⊖ and was characterized by chemical analysis, IR, Raman and 19 F‐NMR data. The [ICNI] ⊕ cation in 1 represents the first example of its kind which is stable at room temperature, formally containing an N ⊕ ‐I bond.
