On the Umpolung of the Reactivity of a Carben Atom – Unexpected Electrophilic Addition to an η‐Thiocarbene of Tungsten Trifluoroacetic acid protonates the electrophilic carbene carbon atom of dicarbonyl(η 5 ‐cyclopentadienyl) [η 2 ‐methyl(methylthio)carbene]tungsten tetrafluoroborate ( 2 ) to provide the cationic tungsta‐thia‐cyclopropane complex 3 . The 1 H‐ and 13 CNMR spectra of diastereomers 3a , 3b and the X‐ray structure of 3a are described.
