Oxidative Addition with 5‐Brompentamethyl‐1,3‐cyclopentadiene: A new Method for the Synthesis of (Pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)metall Compounds The metals antimony, bismuth, tin, and magnesium react with Me 5 C 5 Br ( 1 ) in good yields and under mild conditions to give pentamethylcyclopentadienyl compounds of the type (Me 5 C 5 ) x MBr y ( 2 , 3 , 6 , 8 ). The reaction of decamethylstannocene (7) or bromo(pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)stannylene ( 5 ) with 1 leads to dibromobis(pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)stannane ( 6 ).
