(Hexamethylphosphoric triamide)lithium Dicyanomethanide, [LiCH(CH) 2 ] n a Polymer Containing the Malonodinitrile Anion The preparation and crystal structure of the title compound [LiCH(CN) 2 (hmpt)] n [HMPT = OP(NMe 2 ) 3 ] are described. The polymeric compound contains structural units of … LiNCC(H)CNLi…as double chains. They are linked by planar Li 2 O 2 rings involving the HMPT ligands. The experimental structure parameters of the dicyanomethanide (malonodinitrile) anion correspond well with previous MO calculations. Results of 1 H‐ and 13 C‐NMR investigations are also reported.
