Note on the Reactivity of Silaethene Me 2 SiC(SiMe 3 ) 2 : conformative Effects in the Course of Diels‐Alder Reactions with trans ‐and cis ‐Piperylene 1) Silaethene Me 2 SiC(SiMe 3 ) 2 reacts with trans ‐piperylene (which forms the cisoid conformation easier than cis ‐piperylene) to yield exclusively a [4+2] cycloadduct ( 3 ) in one step by a synchronous mechanism, with cis ‐piperylene only to a [2+2] cycloadduct ( 4 ) possibly by a two‐step mechanism.
