Second‐derivative UV spectra of polyacetylene chromophores: Fingerprints of their geometrical isomers

Second‐derivative UV spectra of C 15 ‐polyacetylenes are useful for the complete structural identification of their chromophores, stereoisomerism of double bonds included. A series of naturally occurring compounds ( 1 – 11 ) is characterized by this new and rapid method.
