Fluorescent Dyes with Five‐membered Ring Carboximide Substructures The preparation of derivatives of benzoperylene ( 3 ), coronene ( 4 ), and benzoperiflanthene ( 5 ) with five‐membered ring carboximide substructures is reported. The dyes exhibit high photostabilities and have fluorescent quantum yields of 42, 47, and 34%. The solubility of the dyes is increased by substitution with tert ‐butyl groups so that the dyes can be used in homogeneous solution.
