Preparation and Properties of 2,3‐Substituted Butane‐1,4‐diyl Bis(trifluoromethanesulfonates) The bis(trifluoromethanesulfonates) [F 3 CSO 2 OCH 2 CR 1 R 2 −] 2 ( 4a–c ) [R 1 ,R 2 = D,D ( a ), CH 3 ,CH 3 ( b ), H,Br ( c )], cyclo‐C 6 H 10 (CH 2 OO 2 SCF 3 ) 2 ( 5 ) and [F 3 CSO 2 OCH 2 C‐(CH 2 )−] 2 ( 6 ) are obtained from the diols [HOCH 2 CR 1 R 2 −] 2 ( 1a–c ), cyclo‐C 6 H 10 ‐(CH 2 OH) 2 ( 2 ) and [HOCH 2 C(CH 2 )−] 2 ( 3 ) with (CF 3 SO 2 ) 2 O in the presence of pyridine. 6 is extremely unstable. 4–6 are characterized by their mass. 1 H, and 13 C{ 1 H} NMR spectra.
