Contributions to the Chemistry of Phosphorus, 154. 1‐ tert ‐Butyl‐2‐methylphosphirane – a Thermally Stable Monophosphirane The title compound 1 has been synthesized by [2 + 1]‐cyclocondensation of 1,2‐dichloro‐propane with dilithium tert ‐butylphosphide in liquid ammonia/ n ‐hexane. In spite of the low degree of substitution 1 is a surprisingly stable monophosphirane (phosphacyclopropane).
