Thiazyl Pentafluorooxotellurate, NSOTeF 5 The title compound 3 is prepared from NSF and B(OTeF 5 ) 3 or from NS + SbF 6 − and CsOTeF 5 , respectively. 3 is rather unstable and isomerises rapidly to give the known TeF 5 NSO ( 2 ) and polymeric products. F 5 TeNSNTeF 5 ( 4 ) is formed from 2 in the BF 3‐ catalyzed elimination of SO 2 . From 3 and AsF 5 the thiazyl salt NS + F 5 TeOAsF 5 − ( 6 ) is formed.
