The coordination compound Co 2 (CO) 6 ( t BuBN t Bu) ( 2b ) is synthesized from Co 2 (CO) 8 and the iminoborane t BuB N t Bu ( 1b ). According to IR and NMR data, the iminoborane acts in the same way as the isoelectronic alkyne t BuC C t Bu, entering into a bridge position perpendicular to the CoCo bond.
