A Reductive Michaelis‐Becker Reaction: Synthesis and Properties of Diethyl (Pentachlorophenyl)phosphonite Hexachlorobenzene ( 1 ) reacts with sodium diethyl phosphite ( 3 ) to form diethyl (pentachlorophenyl)phosphonite ( 6 ) in a novel heterogeneous redox reaction. Subsequent reactions and NMR data are reported.
