Phosphonium Metalates, V. Carbonyl(hydrido)(η 5 ‐pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)(trimethylphosphane)iron(II): Preparation and Reaction with Trimethyl(methylene)phosphorane The iron hydride C 5 Me 5 (CO) 2 FeH ( 2 ) is obtained by the reaction of Na[Fe(CO) 2 C 5 Me 5 ] ( 1 ) with acetic acid. 2 is converted in the presence of trimethylphosphane to C 5 Me 5 (CO)(Me 3 P)FeH ( 3 ), which reacts with the ylide Me 3 P=CH 2 to give C 5 Me 5 (CO)(Me 3 P)FeMe( 4 ) and Me 3 P via the intermediate formation of the phosphonium salt Me 4 P[Fe(CO)(Me 3 P)C 5 Me 5 ] ( 5 ).
