Preparation and Properties of Tetrakis(trifluoromethylthiazyl), (CF 3 SN) 4 Tetrakis(trifluoromethylthiazyl) was prepared from CF 3 SCI and (CH 3 ) 3 SiN 3 . At −30°C it is stable for a few days. On standing it oligomerizes and after 7 days at 20°C the melting point is above 180°C. By addition of F 2 to CF 3 SNCO at −78°C CF 3 S(F)NC(O)F is formed in good yield. In the presence of HgF 2 it decomposes at 25°C to (CF 3 SN) x – 19 F NMR, IR, UV, and mass spectra are given.
