Preparation and Properties of, and Reactions with, Metal‐Containing Heterocycles, XVI 1) Five‐Membered Tungsten‐, Iron‐, and Nickel‐Containing Metallacycloalkanes The metallacyclopentanes, (3a–c) [m = 1–3: L n M = h 5 ‐C 5 H 5 Ni (3a) , h 5 ‐C 5 H 5 Fe (3b) , h 5 ‐C 5 H 5 W (3c) ] are obtained by reductive cycloelimination of the complexes L n (OC) m‐1 M(X)PPh 2 [CH 2 ] 3 Cl (2a–c) with sodium amalgam. 3b is also formed from h 5 ‐C 5 H 5 ‐(OC) 2 FeBr (1b) and PPh 2 [CH 2 ] 3 MgCl. 3a , b insert SO 2 into their MC σ bond to give the cyclic S‐sulfinates (4a , b) .
