Tosyl Group Transfer with O , O ′‐Ditosylethyleneglycol The ability of O , O ′‐ditosylethyleneglycol ( 2a ) to act as tosyl group transfer reagent to neopentyl type alcohols is described. Starting form 1a the spirooxetane 3 can be synthesized via tosyl group transfer in high yield. 4a by double tosyl transfer yields the ditosylate 4b . The homologous ditosylpropyleneglycol 2b does not react in a similar manner.
