Foresaconitin, the Main Alkaloid from the Roots of Aconitum forestii Stapf Foresaconitin ( 1 ) was isolated as the main alkaloid (0.2%) from the roots of Aconitum Forestii Stapf and identified as the 8‐ O ‐acetyl‐14‐ O ‐(4‐methoxybenzoyl) derivative of 8β, 14α‐dihydroxy‐ 1α, 6α, 16β‐trimethoxy‐4β‐(methoxymethyl)aconitan known as chasmanin ( 2 ).
