A New Synthesis of Tetrahydrocapillarine, O ‐Methylglomelline and Oospolactone Pyridine catalysed acylation of a number of homophthalic acids with various acid anhydrides has been extensively studied, leading to the synthesis of several substituted isocoumarins including the natural products mentioned above.
