About the Formation of 2‐Ethylthio‐3‐phenylindene from 2‐Ethylthio‐1,1‐diphenyl‐2‐propen‐1‐ol 2‐Ethylthio‐3‐phenylindene ( 6 ) is formed in 75% yield by heating the tertiary carbinol 2b in toluene with catalytic amounts of p ‐toluenesulfonic acid.
