Selenium Dioxide Insertion into Tin‐Oxygen Bonds The monomeric selenites [R 3 SnO] 2 SeO ( 1 ) [R CH 3 ( a ), n‐C 4 H 9 ( b ), C 6 H 5 ( c )] are obtained by insertion of SeO 2 into the SnO bonds of bis(triorganyltin) oxides [R 3 Sn] 2 O. 1c is also formed from [(C 6 H 5 ) 3 Sn] 2 E (E S, Se) and SeO 2 . Depending on the stoichiometric ratio the reaction of (CH 3 ) 3 SnOH with SeO 2 yields 1a or (CH 3 ) 3 SnOSe(O)OH ( 2a ).
