Das aus Dihydrotomatidin B[(22 R :25 S )‐22.26‐Imino‐5α‐cholestandiol‐(3β.16β)] erhältliche (22 R :25 S )‐3β‐Hydroxy‐22.26‐acetimino‐5α‐cholestanon‐(16) (I) wird unter den Bedingungen der HUANG‐MINLON‐Reduktion in (22 R : 25 S )‐22.26‐Imino‐5α‐cholestanol‐(3β) (IIa) übergeführt. Als Nebenprodukt entsteht das Solanum ‐Steroidalkaloid Demissidin (III).
