Durch Umsetzung von ω‐Brom‐acetophenon mit Zink und Crotonaldehyd wurde Sorbophenon, C 6 H 5 ·CO·CH:CH·CH:CH·CH 3 , erhalten. Die analoge Reaktion mit Sorbinaldehyd führte zum 1‐Phenyl‐octatrienon‐(1), C 6 H 5 ·CO·CH:CH·CH:CH·CH:CH·CH 3 . Es handelt sich um eine Modifikation der Reformatsky‐Synthese, die nun auch zur Darstellung von Ketonen Verwendung finden kann.
