Cover Picture . The biodiversity of dye plant species from Malagasy terrestrial environment offers several new sources of dyes not yet investigated. They are readily available raw materials that could be cultivated to produce natural colorants for different sectors of industries, because of the diversity of their chemical profiles and the large gamut of colors that they can provide. This current study displays an overview of 128 dye plant species, endemic, native or introduced in Madagascar. A detailed description of the botanical and chemical properties of some natural dyestuffs in relation to their biological activities are given to show their interest and their added value for their potential use and scientific or economic valorization, as reported by Andriamanantena et al . in their review at 10.1002/cbdv.201900442.
