Cover Picture . The plant Polygonum multiflorum is widely distributed and cultivated in southern China. The roots of this plant, named as ‘heshouwu‘ , are used as tonic, antioxidant, and anti‐aging agents for a famous traditional Chinese medicine for centuries. As a part of our ongoing project of searching for diverse and bioactive natural products from the medicinal plants in the Lingnan region of China, five new TSG‐based stilbene glycoside oligomers (multiflorumisides H − L) were isolated and characterized from the roots of P. multiflorum . Multiflorumisides H − L were found to be the first examples of oligomeric stilbene glycosides with a C(4)−C(8')‐linkage between the monomers. Multiflorumisides K and L were the first TSG‐based stilbene glycoside trimers possessing a unique linear skeleton, in which the three TSG monomers were coupled through C(4)−C(8') and C(4')−C(8'') bonds. In addition, two new compounds exhibited moderate inhibitory activities against NO production in LPS‐stimulated RAW264.7 cells, as reported by S.‐G. Li et al . in their full paper at 10.1002/cbdv.201900192.
