Front Cover . The cover picture shows schematically two opposing sides of peptides, derived from proteins or synthetic ones, known as amyloids fibrils because they contain β‐sheet motif. As a result of the self‐assembling process, they can form amyloid deposits characteristic for amyloidosis (bad face). On the other hand, due to their surprisingly useful mechanical, physico‐chemical parameters, they can be used as scaffolds in regenerative medicine (good face). The short aromatic peptides able to form highly ordered amyloid‐like structures in self‐assembling processes were identified. All peptides materials formed under physiological conditions (pH 7.2, 37 °C) are stable in in vitro test conditions, they do not show cytotoxic effects on L929 fibroblast cells. Peptides containing tyrosine and tryptophan residues effectively accelerated the proliferation and stimulated the activity of L929 fibroblasts, as reported by A. Chaberska et al. in their full paper at 10.1002/cbdv.201800543.
