There is a huge number of books covering the subject of virtual reality (VR). Grigore Burdea and Philippe Coiffet have succeeded in the task of conveying their extensive experience in this field through their book Virtual Reality Technology. In my opinion this is one of the best books available on the subject. It constitutes an excellent text for a VR course at any level. It can even be a great foundation and introduction to the state of the art for young researchers.
