Compelling societal issues and concerns inevitably have an impact on sports, and that's especially evident in the recent nationwide activism involving many student‐athletes. Whether rooted in concerns about injustice, inequality, unfair treatment, or fundamental fairness, student‐athletes are using their voices and social media platforms to speak out on past actions, present conditions, and the need for sensitivity, understanding, and change on a number of issues.
