College sports teams use a variety of methods to motivate their student‐athletes. One approach that can be attention‐getting, inspiring, and fun involves the compilation of video recordings of outstanding individual and team performances over a period of time or against a particular opponent. The video highlights often demonstrate the end result of challenging practice and preparation sessions, superior effort and skill, and overall excellence while in the heat of competition and inspire student‐athletes to strive to match that performance level in the future.
