Henry Lyons — a lecturer at the University of Missouri at Kansas City — gave a student‐athlete an F in 2010. When that student‐athlete appealed the grade, Lyons defended his decision to both the program director and the dean. However, the Committee on Academic Affairs allowed the student‐athlete to submit a second midterm paper, and the dean upheld that decision.
