The intercollegiate athletics world changed swiftly and dramatically this past fall when five prominent schools put the brakes on one of each of their respective men's teams that allegedly had at best engaged in inappropriate behavior and at worst engaged in vulgar and offensive sexist and/or racist conduct or communications. From allegedly providing “scouting” reports on the members of the corresponding women's team to describing the sexual history and types of sexual acts in which certain women on campus might engage, team members memorialized and disseminated their communications in text messages, documents, and spreadsheets.
