The college athletics experience no doubt provides student‐athletes with such valuable life skills as time management, teamwork, and self‐discipline, which will benefit them long after they leave the playing field. But the student‐athletes who play football and other contact sports also experience multiple hits to the head, which can leave them with lasting, but much less desirable, outcomes, long after they stop participating in college athletics.
