College campuses are not experiencing a crisis of free speech — but politically active students have complicated the landscape, according to a new report on the issue from PEN America. The report was a response to President Donald Trump's March 2019 executive order on free speech, declaring that vocal students on the left objecting to conservative speakers on campus have impinged upon the right to free speech. Trump's executive order would cut federal research funding to public research institutions that do not comply with First Amendment obligations.
