It's no secret that the overall health and well‐being of officers is critical to the success of an agency's mission. We now understand that well‐being includes not only physical fitness, but also mental wellness. And neglecting this mental aspect is an underlying cause of officer stress, poor performance, and burnout, according to Patrick Brady, Ph.D., assistant professor of criminology at the University of West Georgia.
