More than 400 people were shot in 190 college campus shooting incidents at 142 college campuses between the academic years 2001–02 and 2015–16, according to a study conducted by the Citizens Crime Commission of New York City. The CCC also found that gun violence increased from 12 incidents during the 2010–11 academic year to nearly 30 incidents in the 2015–16 academic year.
