Chicago and Los Angeles tied for major U.S. cities with the quickest police response time, according to research from a report released by Safe Smart Living. The data was compiled by reviewing publicly disclosed reports, but since data years differ based on when data was collected and compiled, not all major U.S. cities are included in the results. Police response time nationwide varied by type of crime reported, with more than 50 percent of police departments responding to violent crimes in 10 minutes or less.
