A penny saved is a penny earned. A stitch in time saves nine. Work now, play later. Three different and well‐known phrases, all with a slightly different meaning but interrelated nonetheless. Each phrase speaks, sort of prophetically, about thinking in the present but planning for the future. Save a few dollars by not spending them and you may have extra money down the line. Don't rush through something, and perhaps you will do the job right the first time. Spend the effort and focus on the task at hand so you can enjoy the fruits of your labor afterward. Life and our professional careers are similar to these historic pieces of important advice.
