Since the O'Bannon litigation, the possibility of student‐athletes profiting off their name, image, and likeness has been at the forefront of the national dialogue on possible forms of compensation within the world of collegiate athletics. An antitrust decision that determined the NCAA's limits on education‐related financial benefits were unlawful certainly added further fuel to the growing pay‐for‐play debate.
