A new course in computer aided drafting and design at the freshman and sophomore level is currently being offered at Michigan Technological University (MTU). The course is interdisciplinary in nature, with example problems taken from several engineering fields. This article discusses the course and the need for such a course in engineering education. Grading procedures and comments describing students' reactions to the course are also discussed.
