This paper describes multimedia work stations used in an undergraduate electrical engineering laboratory. The work stations are DSP96000 IBM PC‐based and are used for digital signal processing (DSP), speech processing, image processing, and graphics applications. The experiments conducted in two undergraduate courses are presented. The first is a one‐semester, three‐credit‐hour digital signal processing course and the second is a one‐semester, three‐credit‐hour senior design course.
