Two hundred upper extremities of fresh human cadavers were used to study the anatomy of the tendinous apparatus of the flexor digitorum profundus (FDP) and flexor digitorum superficialis (FDS) muscles. This study describes the different types of mesotendons revealed by layered dissection, and the complex arterial network of the structures and their various sources of blood supply as revealed by the injection of colored latex or India ink solution in gelatin.
