Abstract Three dimensional images of both the surface and the underlying skull of an Egyptian mummified head from the Greco‐Roman Period were obtained from the reconstruction of sequential computerized tomographic scans of the head. The images produced by this new technique provide morphological and pathological data previously available only through destructive measures. As a descriptive anatomical tool, this technique, as demonstrated by the reported Egyptian mummy example, is a valuable non‐destructive method of obtaining data from unique anatomical specimens.
