A tall tank (13 m high by 1.8 m diameter) with four orifice air inlets showed linear relationships among air input rate, gas phase holdup, and volumetric oxygen transfer coefficient. The established performance of the tall tank aeration system may be used for reference in design when scaling from laboratory to industrial size equipment.
